Your day to day

 

As Demi Chef, your passion for presentation and dedication to delivering flavour will complete each guest’s experience. By taking pride in your workspace, keeping your standards high, and giving our menu the benefit of your expertise, you’ll create some of our guests’ most lasting memories.

 

We are looking for someone who has a passion for food and someone who wants to add value in an environment that will allow them to discover new and innovative products and ways of working within a global brand.

 

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be a motivated person with a positive attitude who has an interest to progress your culinary career, develop your skills, and work within the varying styles of kitchen operations. You will be responsible for producing a wide range of quality products whilst exercising your knowledge of hygiene and food safety and maintaining our high guest service standards.

 

As a Demi Chef you will be exposed to, and work in all areas of a very busy kitchen operation. You will be involved daily in the preparation and production of breakfast, lunch and dinner services for our Restaurant Ivy & Jack, as well as supporting our Conference & Events catering.

 

What we need from you

 

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 4 years previous culinary experience preferably in a similar role, with experience in a hotel or restaurant environment. You will have your commercial cookery certification and you will have worked with a food safety system such as HACCP. You will also have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm to learn new things and above all, a can do attitude. It will be paramount for you to pay strict attention to timing and essential for you to stay organised and on top of your work at all times. To achieve results, you will be self-motivated and will perform your role with a sense of urgency. You will be creatively focused and have a genuine passion for creating exceptional cuisine.

 

Flexibility across a 7 day roster (including public holidays and weekends) is essential. Australian work rights, with no restrictions, is also a must. To meet the WA Governments requirements for working in a hospitality premises, you must be willing and able to meet the mandated Covid-19 double-dose vaccination requirement and be up to date with your booster.
