Deadly opportunity for Indigenous Australians to start a hotel career

January 8, 2025

Big news for Indigenous Australians who would love to kickstart a career in the exciting hotel industry. After a successful pilot program in South East Queensland, Accor’s Indigenous Hotel Traineeship is expanding to become a national program in 2025.

For the first time, the program will be offered in Western Australia at the stunning Pullman Bunker Bay Resort in the Margaret River Region of the South West.

This is your opportunity to gain valuable skills, earn while you learn and open the door to a bright future in hospitality.

WHAT'S THE TRAINEESHIP ALL ABOUT?

This 12-month, full-time traineeship is your chance to get hands-on experience in the hotel industry while earning a salary. The program includes placements in three different departments — Food & Beverage, Housekeeping & Rooms, Front Office & Guest Services — for four months at a time.

At the end, you’ll graduate with a Certificate III in Hospitality, and there’s even an option to complete a Certificate IV if you want to keep pushing your career forward.

WHY SHOULD I APPLY?

If you’re Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and passionate about working in the hospitality industry, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. You will benefit from:

  • real-world experience in all major hotel departments, so you’ll be ready to take on a variety of roles in the industry
  • Accor’s tailored career development, with opportunities for trainees to move into permanent roles after the program
  • the opportunity to share your unique culture with guests every day, helping shape an authentic and welcoming experience for visitors
  • a full-time, paid traineeship, so you can earn while you learn.
