Who We Are
The Capes Foundation is an ambitious not-for-profit organisation committed to providing visitors with enriching experiences that assist them to understand and appreciate the immense natural, historical, and cultural significance of Wadandi Boodja – and in doing so enables visitors to contribute to the prosperity of our people and place.

How We Work
The Capes Foundation Division of the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) operates eight of the region’s cornerstone nature-based tourism experiences. The funds generated enable us to invest in projects throughout the region which grow economic, environmental, social, and cultural outcomes for our community through tourism.

MRBTA is Australia’s largest Local Tourism Organisation (LTO) and has over 50 years’ experience in supporting the Margaret River Region to thrive through tourism. We are driven by a vision that tourism in the Margaret River Region will be an experience which delights visitors, stimulates the regional economy, contributes to the region’s rich social and environmental values, and supports a vibrant Aboriginal culture. The Association also provides leadership to the local tourism industry and undertakes destination marketing and visitor servicing.

This unique integrated model allows for a level of unparalleled capacity and collaboration to drive a sustainable, regenerative future for people and place.

This mission is underpinned by an ongoing and productive partnership with Aboriginal traditional owners, which positions the sustainability of Wadandi knowledge and culture at the forefront of the Foundation’s actions and aims.

We acknowledge the Wadandi people’s 60,000-year custodianship of this special place, and we thank them for generously sharing with us their immensely deep cultural knowledge and connection to the land.
