Wooramel Station and River Retreat is a family run pastoral business owned by the 2nd generation of Steadmans. Situated 120kms south of Carnarvon on Western Australia’s Coral Coast. The station is around 60kms long and 30kms wide, traditionally it ran sheep, but has now been converted to cattle, goats and tourists adapting to the changing social and environmental conditions. We opened the station to visitors in 2014, with it came a big change to our way of life. Gone are the days were we wouldn’t go to town or see people for weeks, instead we had people rolling in to experience some of the wonders of Wooramel.

In 2023 we welcomed over 35,000 guests onto the station inviting them to take a glimpse into our way of life, pastoral station history and to enjoy the beautiful landscape and abundance of wildlife that we are lucky enough to live in.
WRR has grown relatively quickly, from a nature base campground of 10 sites to 150 sites, 12 eco tents a 9 room accommodation block and the upside down café. Guests enjoy soaking in the naturally heated artesian baths, going on walks or a self drive 4WD station tours, eating amazing traditional meals, watching nature and relaxing. Our reputation and growth has been built on word of mouth, or referrals from our guests chatting about there experience.
Our Continuing strong reputation is really important to us, our team of staff members play a vital role in this. We are a family and team that prides itself
on friendly outback hospitality,  5 star cleanness and service, we offer a few creature comforts and our guests a unique taste of isolation and living off the grid in the bush. In saying this, we are only as good as the team we have living and working together on the station. We work hard, we help each other and we enjoy life.
