About the Role

Z1Z is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee operations at Cape Lodge in Margaret River. We’re searching for an entrepreneurial General Manager with independent or lifestyle hotel experience who can embody the brand’s ethos with their individual style and sophistication. 

A leader who nurtures unparalleled service without pretense, and delivers outstanding financial performance while remaining true to the spirit of the brand.

Key responsibilities:

The General Manager will function as the primary strategic business leader of the property with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including:

  • Managing general property performance
    • Food and beverage operations
    • Managing and sustaining sales and marketing strategy
    • Managing profitability
    • Managing revenue generation
    • Managing and conducting human resources activities
  • Leads the team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies. 
  • Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
  • Builds relationships with key customers and is involved in the sales process
  • Set the standard for what other hotels want to achieve.
  • Explore new business opportunities with an eye for the innovative and unique. 
  • Build a leadership team of brand advocates who believe in what Cape Lodge has to offer and are personally invested in its success.
  • Foster an environment where employees know they are valued, ensuring they are treated fairly and with respect. 
  • Build a culture of open communication, spend time with employees on the frontlines, and be available for them.

About You

  • You have considerable experience in hotel management operations, sales and marketing, or related professional area.
  • You will be tertiary qualified in Business Administration or/and Hotel and Restaurant Management. 
  • You have strong experience across guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing
  • You have General Manager experience with emphasis on Lifestyle and Luxury, with an understanding of guest services, front desk, housekeeping, sales and marketing
  • You are flexible with working hours (sometimes including weekends, holidays, and late nights).
