If you’re looking to start a career in tourism or hospitality, fee-free TAFE courses in WA could be your ticket in. These courses give you the practical skills employers want — without the upfront cost.
What's on offer?
WA’s Skills Ready initiative provides fee-free TAFE courses and skill sets in tourism and hospitality. Whether you want a quick start with a Job Ready skill set or a full qualification, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate III in Tourism, there’s an option to suit your goals.
These courses include commercial cookery, events management, patisserie, tourism, laundry operations and food handling — covering the practical skills and knowledge needed for a variety of roles across cafes, restaurants, hotels, event venues, and tourism businesses.
There’s also a handful of short courses that teach you the “must know” skills that employers are looking for, so you’ll be job ready.
Who can access fee-free training?
Fee-free courses are generally available to job seekers, school leavers, concession card holders, and those under 25. Some eligibility requirements apply, so it’s a good idea to check before enrolling. While tuition is free, some small fees may apply for resources or materials.
Why do it?
These courses offer hands-on, industry-recognised training designed to get you job-ready. Starting with a Job Ready skill set can lead to quick employment, while full qualifications open doors for career growth and further study.
