Role: Duty Manager

We’re looking for a motivated, energetic, and engaged Duty Manager for our iconic Running with Thieves Brewery and distillery. You will be reporting to the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager, and responsible for assisting in the running of the food and beverage operation.

Running With Thieves is the largest operational independent brewery and distillery in Western Australia and produces a range of craft beers, in addition to premium spirits and crafted cocktails.

Located on iconic South Beach, the brewery includes a bar, restaurant with an open kitchen, and retail outlet that reflects the modern, relaxed sophistication of South Fremantle.

Three copper pot stills form the heart of the bar and minimal barriers allow you to immerse yourself in the brewing process and appreciate the passion that goes into creating our beers and spirits. All our products are made by hand and packaged on site.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Management of venue; including (but not limited to) cost control, labour management, staff training, running shifts, overseeing the facility (ensuring safety, hygiene, and security is maintained)
Liaising with the kitchen to ensure consistent quality and presentation of meals.
Ensuring all staff on shift are dressed within appropriate standards, clean and presentable
Shift handovers are completed effectively and in full
Coordinate and proactively manage functions and events
Continued improvement of the customer experience.
Actively handle customer complaints in a professional and timely manner and escalate communication with the venue manager and Assistant Venue Manager as required.
Effectively deal with team member complaints and conflict resolution within the RWT framework for handling these matters
Hands-on role working alongside a close-knit team of staff to develop, train and upskill.
Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, council regulations, food safety, WHS, and other relevant legislative instruments.
Create and maintain a positive work environment
·       Visibly active on the floor, overseeing all elements of service on shift including controlling wage costs in relation to venue/trade requirements

Skills and experience

·       Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and train a team of staff.

·       Pragmatic approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.

·       Ability to work autonomously with direction and guidance

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Previous supervisory or duty management experience

·       Friendly, positive, and approachable attitude.

·       RSA, Current WA Approved Manager, Covid Hygiene Cert and Covid vaccinated.
