We require a professional, enthusiastic and friendly Driver to join our passionate team and award-winning tourism business. You will play an integral role in delivering our private and small group walking tours by providing land transfers for our valued guests both within the Margaret River region, and to and from Perth. You will often be the first point of contact to welcome guests and look after them during their time in the south-west, so an ability to make guests feel welcome and looked after is essential.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Up to 4 days per week in season (March-June and Sept-Nov) plus ad hoc hours available year round (subject to booking volumes).
Volume of work is negotiable.
Responsibilities
This role includes duties such as:

- Role primarily involves land transfers within the Margaret River region, and to and from Perth.

- May require up to one night per week staying overnight in Perth in season subject to transfer schedules (accommodation allowance provided).

- Luggage delivery, collecting catering and set up of in room provisions at guest accommodation.

- Ensuring all guests are met and greeted on time at point of departure / collection points.

- Attending to all enquiries and requests from guests with a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude.

- Refuel and maintain vehicle as required.

- Drive tour vehicle safely along specified routes to speed and conditions.

- Provide informative and interesting commentary.

- Role may include ancillary duties such as cleaning vehicle, purchasing supplies/maintaining stock, and keeping log book/servicing up to date.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
-
- Valid Western Australia Driver’s Licence with PTD authorisation (allowing you to transfer more than 12 passengers).

- Light Rigid (LR) class licence (allowing you to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle mass exceeding 4500kg) – our vehicle is a VW Crafter 15 seater & Mercedes Benz Valente 8 seater.

- Current Provide First Aid Certificate.

- Proven safe driving record.

- A demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of customer service.

- Outgoing and friendly personality and ability to relate well to people of all ages / backgrounds.

- Reliable and well presented.

- Experience driving on country roads at dawn and dusk in areas with kangaroos.

- Able to fit into a great team environment but still able to work independently.

- Able to work weekends and public holidays as required.
Desirable

- Passion for, and knowledge of, the Margaret River region of Western Australia desirable.

- Previous experience in tourism industry desirable but not essential.

- Previous experience driving and/or dealing with groups of people desirable.
